Welcome to Haiti on the Paradise Islands website. The Republic of Haiti occupies roughly one third of the island of Hispaniola which it shares with the Dominican Republic, located in the Greater Antilles between the islands of Cuba and Puerto Rico.
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and has suffered decades environmental disasters, political instability and poverty. It is not a tourist destination and following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake in 2010, which tragically killed over 300,000 people; The Republic of Haiti not an island to visit unless you are there in an official capacity.

Note about this page: The Editor decided to include this very short page about the Republic of Haiti rather than leave a blank link on the Caribbean travel guide section: however, out of respect for the recent tragic events in Haiti in 2010 we have no adverts or tourism links on this page and just one image. |
