Sugar Cane Bay Tortola

Sugar Cane Bay (Cane Garden Bay) Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The bay gets it's name from the sugar cane which is still grown to make rum. The cane is grown in local gardens and crushed to produce the sugar liquid which is then boiled, fermented and then distilled. The sugar cane liquid is then aged before turning it into white rum (2 years in bottles) or dark rum (aged for 4 years in oak barrels).
