Norman Island, British Virgin Islands. Norman Island is lies off the western tip of the Sir Frances Drake Channel close to the boarder with the US Virgin islands, Peter Island Resort and seven miles south of Tortola. The island is uninhabited and around 600 acres and 2.5 miles long with a high central ridge along the length of the island. The highest point is Norman Hill over 400 feet above sea level. The coast has a number of beaches, coves and reefs. The most popular attraction are the caves along The Bright where you can snorkel.
Norman Island has a history involving pirates and treasure. Norman was the inspiration for the famous Caribbean epic book "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson.
