Welcome to Cruz Bay St John in the US Virgin Islands. Cruz Bay is the main town on the west coast of the island and the main port of entry. Regular ferries link the island with the cruise port at Charlotte Amalie on St Thomas and Road Town on Tortola. Ferries also run between the harbour at Cruz and Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda and also to Jost Van Dyke. |
Cruz Bay is a small harbour, commercial and administrative centre for St John. Here you will find some quaint stores as well as basic essentials; restaurants, a few quiet bars and the Virgin Islands National Park visitor centre. |
Cruise ship passengers from St Thomas on day excursions will arrive at the Cruz ferry dock to be met by colourful Caribbean open sided buses for their short onward journey to Trunk Bay or other popular island destinations. Many visitors will miss the charm of Cruz Bay and it's well worth stopping for a while, if time allows. |
