Ginger Plant / Flower

 

Ginger Plant - Caribbean Flowers and Trees Photo Collection. Ginger is an important spice or condiment -  Zingiber officinale of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). The plant is an erect perennial herb having thick branched rhizomes which contain starch, gums and gingerin. Ginger is used in medicine, in cooking and for flavouring drinks such as ginger beer. The Ginger plant is widely grown in the Caribbean islands.
